buffalo, warthogs and giraffes. Also the Rift Valley escarpment forms a noteworthy landmark
and provides a spectacular backdrop to Lake Manyara.

DAY 2: LAKE MANYARA TO NGORONGORO CRATER.
After breakfast, we descend into this magnificent crater for half-day game drive. The
Ngorongoro Crater is one of the most densely crowded African wildlife areas in the world and
is home to an estimated 30,000 animals including some of Tanzania’s last remaining black
rhino. The Ngorongoro crater is the world’s biggest whole volcanic caldera at 8300 sq km and
is arguably the most stunning arena. It is frequently described as one of the wonders of the
world, not only because of its geological magnificence, but also because it serves as an
extraordinary natural sanctuary for some of Africa’s largest populations of large mammals.
Another big draw card to this picturesque park is the dense population of predators, which
include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and the ever-elusive leopard, which sometimes
requires a trained eye to spot.
Lunch will take place at the picnic site at the crater floor. In the afternoon, drive back
to Arusha.
